In setting up an Untangle device, I was told afterwards that they wanted to add their wireless router to the mix.
I already configured the internal interface to 192.168.1.1 and that is also the IP for the wireless. My thoughts are to change the internal interface to 192.168.0.1 on Untangle and reboot. Is it that simple? or is it more involved? (Aware that I will need to adjust the rules accordingly) Internal: (Primary IP Address and Netmask) I just did not want to make a quick change and brick untangle. I would rather not have to change the linksys router to 192.168.0.1 as I have had problems before where it would not come up and I had to reset the linksys. Do the newer linksys routers allow for this? (WRT54G2V1) I am not asking about the wireless configuration, after I change the internal IP, as I can deal with that. Regards, Scott. |

No comments on this?
I ask again ... can I simply change the Internal IP from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1 so I can connect the wireless router (that is 192.168.1.1) and not muck up my untangle box? or do I have to reinstall using 192.168.0.1 Regards, Scott. |

As far as UT is concerned it is that simple, change the internal IP/subnet (if needed) and though I have not seen it say anywhere that a reboot is required, I would reboot just to make sure it goes through. Now if you have OpenVPN configured, you will want/need to go in there and alter your exported networks..etc.
Now on the LAN, depending on who gives out your DHCP address..etc you will have to adjust there. IF UT does this, you will need to change that as well (before you reboot). |
