I am using an IAX box behind Untangle (router-firewall). (ROIP app_rpt in specific, called Allstar Link) I set up a port forward in network config to route 4569 inbound. That works fine...However.. My IAX box broadcasts keep alive messages to a "dns"server and that server picks up the Port info from the arriving packet. Port translation of my IAX broadcast packets are being logged as port 1024 instead of 4569 which my internal host sent. I understand that is how PAT works but I need to create an outbound exception from a specific inside host and cannot figure out how. Every path I try does not work.. PAT always changes 4569 to 1024.. Ideas ????? I would accept force to a specific port so as unique so I could create an inbound rule to match.. The issue is other app_rpt installations check the "dns"registry and then connect on the port it specifies.. in this case 1024.. and my Untangle box does not know what to do with an inbound packet on 1024 as they are un-announced...I do not really think I should make an inbound rule for 1024 back to 4569 as 1024 seems like it is used or could be for other arriving packets?? Help ?? Thoughts??
