Question Packet Test on External Interface

    Hi guys

i got this result from a packet test on the external interface:

tcpdump: Warning, eth2 has no IP4 Addresse assigned , or similar.

the ip address actually assigned is a private static one behind a router, 192.168.x.x/x

can please someone tell me the reason of the warning, and what it means ?

    thank you in advance
