    Default Interface4

    Hi,

I just upgraded an old UTM hardware with new hardware. Earlier i had 5 network interfaces, and since we didn't need so many, the new hardware has only 4 interfaces.

    Attached are 3 files:-
    1. interfaces-old.jpg
    2. interfaces-new.jpg
    3. destination-interfaces-list.jpg

Earlier inside Firewall rules, it used to show eth3 inside "Destination Interfaces List", however now its started to show Interface 4. Is that ok ?

Is there a way i can change it back to eth3 ? (Since its easier to remember)

Yes, "Interface 4" is the name of the interface after DMZ.

    Thanks for clearing the confusion.

Can you help me with this setup:

    1. The interface 4 is connected via an MPLS Link to a remote office LAN.
    2. We have a rule in the firewall, where any traffic from internal to Interface 4 is allow (image attached).
    3. Similarly traffic from Interface 4 to Internal is allowed.

Now we are able to ping from the remote office LAN to PC's here in local lan, however vice versa is not working. When i do a traceroute from any internal lan PC, the traffic is stuck at the UTM itself.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Firewall only scans UDP and TCP so ping isn't effected. I would just disable firewall until you have things working. I'd double check your routes and use tcpdump to see what happens to the packets...

i'd suggest using the Ping and Packet Tests from Config > Networking > Troubleshooting, the Packet Test will show you where the packets are going, just filter by the destination IP.
