    Question vLAN: Gateway question

I've been reading up on the search option of vLANs and multiple gateways and I have to ask -

What is needed to use UT and have four vLANs? Primary, Lab 1, Lab2, Guest

Is the simplest thing to do is add 3 secondary NICs and go from there?

You want a core switch that is capable making layer 3 decisions, and you want to move your internal dns/dhcp server away from untangle.

    gjacob3412,

Do you wan't vLANs on both sides of untangle or just behind?
(Untangle will strip the vLAN tag from the traffic that goes through it)

The idea is that I have to split off sections of the network to be a bit more secure. Primary domain is governed by higher security. But I need to prevent the guest, vLAN 1 and vLAN 2 from hitting the Primary vLAN. though it would be nice to keep access to the software repository on the server.

Externally I almost don't care. The Primary vLAN is open, Guest is open with the exception of being able to see PRIvLan and vLAN1 and vLAN2.

I am running Cisco Catalyst 2960 Switches - if this helps the mapping some.

You can either have a layer 3 switch perform as a core router, and pushing the Internet out a dedicated segment Untangle lives on, or have Untangle do the core routing. The former requires two interfaces, the latter requires an interface per VLAN.
