Default Untangle unable to communicate outbound via Cradlepoint CBR450

I bought a Cradlepoint CBR450 (http://www.cradlepoint.com/products/...r-without-wifi) a few months back and have been unable to get it to work correctly with Untangle. The device, which basically converts my verizon broadband 3g modem access to an ethernet port works with windows xp and 7 just fine. If I plug it into untangle and set it up as a wan port, it gets an ip address but nothing is accessible on the internet.

I opened a support case with untangle and they told me that since the IP address and gateways are on different sub nets this is not possible. They recommended I try this on a vanilla ubuntu or other install to test if it worked and I have not gotten around to doing that just yet. Curious if anyone out there has something like this working.

I want to use this as part of the WAN Failover module I purchased in case our Fiber connection goes down.

    Appreciate any insights people have.

This is true, if the IP and the default gateway are on different subnets, then this will never work. That is an invalid configuration, as the default gateway must be on the local subnet to be reachable or you need additional routing instructions on how to get to that IP.

Surley though that is not the configuration of the windows machine that works?

I applied firmware 3.5.0 (released 2/24/2012) to the CBR 450 and now everything works!

The WAN interface has an IP and gateway on the same network and the wan failover ping test now works.

How do I specify which of my WAN interfaces is the primary interface so I don't unnecessarily hit my verizon connection?

I assume the 100 and 0 is for balancer. I only purchased Failover. I checked it last night and the verizon broadband was down but my at&t fiber was up. It looks like External is taken as the primary, as I don't see where I can set it.

However, it was reporting down last night. I went into Config --> Networking and see that the interface had an IP address but no DNS server. I renewed the lease and it started working again and had a DNS listed.

I will watch it again tonight, but wonder where I can look to see what happened to the DNS server. I didn't see anything in the UI, but let me know if there is a log file I should look at for more information.
