I had UT up and running on an older piece of hardware and we just put in a new server so I virtualized the UT install.
I backed up the config on the old machine and restored it on the new machine and all the settings restored properly. All my racks are there and the policy manager kicked in right away.
The first problem I ran in to was that the local UT machine basically ignored the DNS servers that where restored to it. It couldn't connect to the UT store or anything. I got around that by manually editing the resolv.conf file and adding a nameserver. However that gets overwritten any time you do anything with the networking. I know I can just exclude the resolv.conf from being changed or written to and leave it manual but would like to know why this isn't working as it should.
The second issue is that the only port forwarding that works are the rules on the primary IP. Secondary IP's simply do not port forward. If I telnet or access the desired port and the public IP in question from inside the network (aka hairpin it) it works fine.
Also, is there a log that I can monitor real time of the NAT'ing as it occurs? I'd like to see if that traffic is actually hitting UT or if it might be upstream on the ISP's end.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
