    Default Post Installation Problems

    Hello All,

Finally Untangle is installed and running. Here is a list of problem detected so far.

    1. Can't RDP with my DC. I could before. However, I can do RDP with other desktops.

    2. AD doesn't work, probably a configuration issue.

    3. Erratic ping to the gateway from the DC.

    4. Test email doesn't work, probably a configuration issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi.

Good to hear you have installed it. Just a few questions though.
How do you RDP? ( Directly using redirects? via Portal? , OpenVPN? )
Are you using SBS for you AD? Do you have multiple OUs ?

Haven't tried the redirects yet. Tried it via the portal. Haven't setup VPN. Why when the portal is much easier. Not using SBS. Just have the default OU.

Can you post the error when RDP-ing to DC?

Regarding the AD, have you tried using the display name instead of the login name of the account on AD?

What did you use in your AD Authentication field? - What failed - the test or seeing users?

If I run RDP from my desktop it can't establish the connection. But if I use RDP and connect to another desktop it works. It's something to do with the my server. Now in portal it get a NULLPointer from the Java Console.

I put in my username and password. Which I know are correct. The actual test failed.

rlocone, did you put the IP address of the AD or hostname? Try putting the IP address.
to be understood, you must first understand.

Did you put the IP in the AD Server IP?
For the Authentication Login, are you using Windows 2003 Server or SBS?

If you are using SBS, and the User Creation Wizard to create your accounts, you will need to put in the following location for LOGIN to work....since where the Account Creation wizard puts the user is not at the Domain root in Users like Windows 2003 Server does.

    cn=(the account name), ou=SBSUsers, ou=Users, ou=MyBusiness

You can move the location of your account to a different starting location in AD, by using the Administrative Tools; Active Directory Users and Computer program.

    Default Thanks.

I put in the IP for the AD server. It worked on the test. As for RDP I had to enter in the IP for the server which is the same as the AD / DC. All I had to do before was enter its host name. Now I can't hostnames will no longer work for the server.

I entered in ips for the network share it works not hostnames. Sounds to me like DNS is screwed up somewhere.
