Event logs?

I've probably missed this, but When I check Event logs for web filter and spam blocker etc.

It only gives me 40 pages to look at. Is there another way to check event logs that have more date than 40 pages?

Am I just being stupid? or am I ment to look in the reports or what for the info I require?

not really, you might want to use a syslog and dump all the data to it. Config, administration, monitoring.
