Any case studies on UT?

Greetings,

My organization nixed any budget for our PIX replacement this year. We have a PIX 515E (unrestricted) with about 500 users. I mentioned UT to my CIO and he poo pooed the idea until I showed him a demo. Hes impressed with it but we have a requirement in our "data center" for high availability IE... the desire to have a failover unit like our PIX.

I can get around the HA requirement (sort of) by installing it on a Poweredge 1950 but I was tasked with getting a case study of anyone who has actually replaced thier appliance (PIX, ASA, Sonicwall.. etc) with UT.

Anyone have a written case study or care to pitch the benefits of your recent installation / replacement?

HA with Untangle is a non starter...

It isn't about the software it's about the hardware around it..

Anyway I've got a client that replaced a Sonicwall 2400 that had unlimited licensing with an Untangle. They haven't done any case studies... and somehow I think information coming from a reseller seems tainted by management.

Would a letter of recommendation do? I've been meaning to get one from them for the product for ages anyway.

Well... bad news folks. Due to the lack of any sort of HA or failover with untangle the CIO said no go. The PIX stays. Who knows maybe I will be the next to go with all of these budget cuts...
