I found another neat program for Windows,

Stardock Fences, it allows you to keep icons in little boxes on you desktop.

I love fences I use it for all my desktops and I bought the pro version.

I have a dev buddy that due to his testing he's constantly resetting his desktop resolution. Stardock Fences allows him to put icons in the fence, and they stop moving around! So his icons don't get all disorganized on a resolution shift.

join.me for screen sharing. It is similar to gotomeeting, logmein, and etc.

Windows Live Mesh

Not "open sourced"..but falls under the "free" category.

I had pretty much forgotten about it, barely tried it when it first came out.
Recently picked up a new laptop...was dreading synching everything from old laptop, and office workstation, to new laptop. Remembered folder synch from Mesh....so signed up all 3 computers...and synched away!

Designated folders quickly synched to laptop
Outlook signature and .nk2 file and other settings synched

Oh..and the remote desktop feature...makes it so easy.
