This is bunk, I've been monitoring traffic on my DroidX since I bought it and I haven't seen this. I do see this behavior when I have the GPS feature TURNED ON... but sheesh that's called subsidizing the expense of making one of the best GPS devices on the planet, FREE!

GPS related data halts after I turn the GPS module off, and yes I have the device rooted with a firewall installed on it so I can monitor what goes in and out.
