    And this is why the first step of any serious virus cleanup... is yanking the darn drive. You simply cannot trust and infected OS to give you proper responses.

    Now if only Microsoft didn't break the wonderful repair/reinstall feature that XP had. It was so nice to do a full scan, boot to XP disk, purge all of the windows folder and put everything back to a known good. Nothing survived it, nothing ever will survive it, and MS took that tool away with Vista... thanks MS.

    Ya, it's just a might annoying to see a 'semi-official' MS line published to be, don't bother, just pave it.

    Only because they took away the best tool to fix this crap...

    The XP repair was awesome. Destroy everything in the Windows directory except the registry... rebuild it. SFC just never worked that well.

    I kind of like the new tools available in the MSDaRT/ERD boot disc. I have been going to it over my *nix boot discs of late.
