Default Disk Imaging backup/restore for Windows

    Hello Everyone,

Would like to know what is everyone using the Disk Imaging backup/restore in windows.

tried 2 software which is Acronis True Image 2011 and Shadow Protect 4.

According to my experience Acronis True Image supports larger disk size and does what it suppose to do in terms of recovery . whereas shadow protect 4 wont able to support larger disk size and does not have ability to do multi casting deployment ... But acronis is able to do that without any problems.

Would like to know if there are disk imaging backup/restore softwares in market that can do just about any things and it is stable enough to produce a good backup and recover without any problems.

Your comments would not only help myself but entire group of memebers here waiting for their answers or to sort out any matter that they are looking for.

I've always wanted to take the time to play with the open source clone solution Clonezilla (http://clonezilla.org/), but it seems another not moved from my get-around-to-it list.

We use Symantec BACKUP EXEC SYSTEM RECOVERY 2010 for Windows servers. Works great. I like it more than Acronis but Acronis does it job also well.

    Hey there,

we also use Symantec backup exec system on our windows 2003 server, works like a charm.. Acronis is a very good product and it does what it says to be honest. want to try another software that can fix boot errors, edit boot.ini files and is able to mount the image from boot cd so we can copy and paste in the current system rather then to do a clean system restore.

    Thank you.

I currently use Acronis True Image Home 2011 to do nightly backups of my desktop computers to my Ubuntu File Server... I do complete HD Image backups, not incremental or differential, every night on both machines and I have it keep the last 3 copies for each machine. I have one 640GB hard drive in my file server that is dedicated to storing these backups and nothing else... I have had to do a complete system restore once.. I used the Acronis TI Rescue CD, restored the latest image for that machine from the server, and was back up and running in a little over 30 minutes... It would have been sooner if I wasn't restoring the backup over the network...

    @ dknyinva
you can not compare it to Symantec and Acronis products. No regular backup job. No regular backup. No mail messages. If I get it right it just makes an image of your System when you boot with the CD. This image is then used for recovery when the OS or the disk is broken.

@ dknyinva, Thanks for your feedback. please be informed that i'am not looking for freewares, but instead looking for commercial products as i mentioned Acronis and StorageCraft Shadow Protect 4 Desktop. Just want to find out if there are any other products in market available who can do all the things in one application would then impress me to purchase it . The main feature i am looking for is Mounting / Dismounting images, copy and pasting in current partition or you can say current system from the image backup and the last feature is Universal Restore like in Acronis if available in another product.

I have been wanting to try out EASEUS Todo Backup. It is free for both home and business users and sounds like it does everything that Acronis TI does, only for free... But I have not had a chance to try it out yet...
