I agree yet not, gone are the days of the employ-ability of a monkey. If you get up, get to work on time, and apply yourself, you'll have work.

If you get up, drag yourself in a bit late, to as little as possible, you're out on your ear.

I don't think this has much to do with some magic conversion away from general production. (Granted, if you're just thinking about the US and most of Europe this is a factor) But it has far more to do with the realities of a shrinking economy.

If you want to have a job, if you want to keep a job, you have to bring value to the table or else you're gone.

Just be careful, if you're out like me and you bring value to the table, there's always some inconsiderate, downright ungrateful, merciless, wastes of human flesh that will attempt to take it from you too.

You said a mouthful…I too appreciate the work ethic instilled in me from a pup and never resented being a part of the 20%. As a business owner I want to be a differentiator and believe honor and integrity is the key (not understood by many) as I slog my way to be part of the 01%...

Greed is the great motivator...It is said if you always bring your "A" game, your performance will never be in question. Kinda like if you always tell the truth, you never have to remember what you said...
Where has work ethic gone? I know I'm hungry. I see glimpses of others willing to do what it takes and it's clearly in demand, but fewer seem to be bringing it!
