    Default Wrong counter for rack?

    Clients passed : 2571

The number was 10 about 2 minutes ago

I only connected 1 client. I can watch this number change faster the more I do over the VPN.

I think after the update it isn't working correctly.

This is definitely using the wrong counter. Since yesterday Clients passed: 10348.

If I go to the event log it only shows the 7 connections that I have had.

Default No clients connected, but have clients passed...

In testing, I am the only user of Untangle, and have setup Open VPN. I have tested and proved Open VPN is working but leave it disabled as I don't use it often. I turned it back on for a few days while I was away for work and but never used it. I by chance just checked the server out when I got back and noticed there were 8 clients passed. Checked the logs and there is nothing there.

I have left it on many other times for weeks on end and watch the Clients Passed randomly count up and yet nothing has been in the logs. I now leave it off as I am afraid someone might have found a bug in it and getting into my network.

What is going on here? Counter counting the wrong things, for is something malicious really going on here?

I'm of the opinion that we do not know what the counter means. there are only two of us here that use the vpn, and it says over 3k clients passed. I am quite certain that the vpn here hasn't been hacked.

I'm also not quite sure what the clients connected counter means. if there are only two of us connected, shouldn't that counter stop at 2?

Clients passed is incorrect, I think it is sessions or packets that is traveling through the VPN tunnel.

Are you saying sessions or packets still pass though OpenVPN even when no one is connected? I guess this can make sense if you count people trying to connect but get denied as data is still being processed... But no one has been denied in the logs... so that idea is sort of blown...
