    Default trying to pass UltraVNC SC to viewer on OpenVPN

    Hi,
    I have created a UltraVNC SC exe that connects from the internet to my computer on my network whether it is wired or wireless, but I am having trouble passing it to my computer when it is VPNed in via OpenVPN. I have it port-forwarding ok, and the firewall isn't blocking it. It is OpenVPN that is blocking it. I can see it in the rack passing through the firewall and being blocked at OpenVPN. I have SC configured to be port forwarded to the IP of my computer while VPNed and the port of 5500.

    is it in the exported hosts?

    port forwards shouldn't be involved if you're talking about openvpn.

    Default Once again I haven't explained myself very well...

    dmorris,
    thanks for your reply. What I have setup is user activated help desk over the internet. I have given the user three choices of how to connect based on a conversation with me prior to connecting. If I am in the office and connected to the network via a wired connection they double click one option. If wireless they dclick the second option. If I am out of the office and connected via OpenVPN they click the third (with luck if I can get it to work). So my port forwarding looks something like this in UT:

    domain.org:5500 -> UT PortFor-> 192.168.2.53:5500(wired ip)
    :5510 -> UT PortFor->192.168.2.52:5500(wireless)
    :5520 -> UT PortFor->172.16.16.9:5500(OpenVPN IP)

    This may be the wrong approach for connecting to my computer when OpenVPNed in?

    The other two options work great! People can download the .exe from our web site, call me to find out which option to click, I have my encrypted viewer listening and we connect.

    But alas, the vpn option is being blocked by OpenVPN. I can see it blocking while watching the rack.

    Any tips?
    Thanks

    have you ever thought of using the repeater module of Ultravnc? We use this to do our remote support at our company. Both connections server/viewer are outgoing, and if you use encryption, then you have nothing to worry about.

    That might be a better way to do what I am doing, but would it be able to pass it to my OpenVPN client any better than is being done now?
    Thanks

    no need to pass it to an openvpn client. Just need an active internet connection of some sort on both ends.

    Then I would have to pass it to my home gateway which is dynamic,

    Is there a reason I cannot pass this to/from my computer on the VPN?
