    Default Offline files problem

    Hi,

I'm not sure this is the place to ask but anyway ...

I have an Untangle box setup as firewall/router. I'm using the OpenVPN solution on the Untangle. Everything works fine when I try to connect with an XP machine.

But when I use a Windows 7 machine, the VPN connection is setup fine, but I can't connect to any server or network place. The Windows 7 keeps on giving me the offline files, nothing else.

I guess that the Sync manager doesn't know the laptop is connected to the network and reroutes all attempts to connect to it to the offline files.

Any idea how I can work around this ?
    Best regards, smisse

Please take a look at question 5.

Yes! The OpenVPN client that Untangle bundles with the Untangle server has been upgraded for compatibility with Vista, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. Please note, you might need to login as the administrator to the Vista machine or disable the UAC. To disable the UAC, please check out this URL: [1]

Yeah the openvpn installer must be run as admin, and the openvpn gui shortcut must also be modified to run as admin.

The application doesn't have permission to modify the local machine's routing table without admin rights. Without those modifications, the tunnel connects, but your machine is unable to use it.

Thank you for your answers but I did install the openvpn gui as administrator and I changed the properties to open with administrator rights.
But the offline files still take over.

    Any other ideas ?
    Best regards, smisse
