    Default Cannot 'Distribute Client'

Trying to set up OpenVPN but when I get to the stage where I need to download the client, I click the button and a dialogue appears saying 'Building VPN client' but it doesnt do anything more. The dialogue just stays there with the progress bar moving. I have tried this in Firefox and IE8. I also tried this on the UT box itself. I also ran Terminal on the box and navigated to /usr/share/untangle/conf/openvpn/client-packages but the folder was empty.

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers
    Jon

clicking on 'Distribute Client' should bring up a new window with links to the clients - you're just never seeing that after clicking 'Distribute Client'? i don't even see a progress bar when i click it.

    How is your WAN configured?
Are you running 9.0 and using hostname or a manually specified IP in config->admin->public address?
If so, check out this patch: http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/9...e/Public_IP%29

I am pretty new to UT and I didnt even have the public address set up correctly. I set it to manual and now the OpenVPN distribute function is working.

    Thanks for your help

Hey folks, any other Ideas? I'm running
    Build: 9.0.0~svn20110616r29080release9.0-1lenny

I ssh into the server as root and executed the following command:
(after curl and before untangle should be http colon 2 forward slashes, but the system won't allow me to post a link yet)
    curl untangle.com/download/patches/9.0/public_address.sh
it appeared to run correctly. After applying the patch, I'm still not able to save an IP address. I rebooted the box. Still no joy. Can't save an IP address. The result being when trying distribute client in OpenVPN all I get is the window Building OpenVPN Client which then runs forever. I'd appreciate any ideas.

    welcome.

What does "Can't save an IP address." mean?
You did run the whole command with the /bin/dash right not just the first part like you posted?

Make sure you put '| dash' at the end so the full command would be

    Code:
    curl http://untangle.com/download/patches/9.0/public_address.sh | dash

Sorry, what I meant was on the Config -> Administration page, I couldn't save a manually entered IP.

My problem was piping the command to dash. On the page with the directions for applying the patch, I didn't even see the " | dash ". I thought the command ended with the little blue square link indicator on that line. When I went back and piped the first part to the second, I then saw the download appear and the VM stopped and started. I was then able to specify a manual IP and save it.

    Thanks for the help.
