    Default OVPN to send mail

    Hi all,

My home ISP (tiscali) wont allow me to send email to my (amenworld) mail server.
My office ISP (BT) will allow me (after a long time talking to the 'help desk').
My laptop can connect to my office LAN from home using Untangle and OVPN.
Can I configure OVPN or my laptop so that Outlook can connect to amenworld via my office network when I am at home?
We do not have exchange server.

Is this possible or have I severly missed the point?

Yes that is possible, but you will somehow have to route your outlook traffic through the vpn. This could be done with a static route on your laptop (pointing the IP address of your mail server through the VPN) or by configuring OpenVPN to pass all traffic through the vpn, which I am not sure if we have a GUI checkbox for this.

Alternately you can take the much easier route and get the server admin responsible for your e-mail to put an smtp service on a nonstandard port. It does wonders getting around the general tcp 25 block most ISP's deploy to deal with spammers.
