Default Connect OpenVPN with linksys RVL200

    ok here is my quandary.

I have a client that is using a Linksys RVL200 to currently connect a remote office to the main office with an IPSEC tunnel provided by their internet provider. Slight issues with writing back to the server so I was going to place an untangle device in the main office in bridge mode (for the other features) and then try to use OpenVPN to connect to the remote office still using the Linksys RVL200 as an endpoint. The RVL does have options for IPSEC and SSL VPN connections. Just wondering if anyone had done something close to this before I get in too deep. I don't think replacing the Linksys is an easy/possible option.

BTW they are sending IP phone traffic through this connection and it is working so the new setup will need to be able to handle this too. Just 2 shoretel phones at the remote office so the bandwidth is not too bad.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

    Welcome to the forums!

I can partially answer your question. From what I've seen on the forums, if the RVL200 is ssl vpn capable it should work. I unfortunately don't know the details of this would be implemented, and will have to make room for more seasoned users to help you there.

For the VOIP traffic, that's fairly simple for your new setup with Untangle. You can set up QoS to give VOIP traffic priority and use system Bypass Rule (requires advanced networking in Untangle) to get it to behave just how you want.

See these links for more information:

    Full Stop... it won't work.

That Linksys is using a proprietary Cisco SSL VPN technology who's only workable endpoint is an active-x client installed in Internet Explorer. You aren't going to get the OpenVPN software in Untangle to work with that.
