PC Remote to go EOL with Untangle 7.2

There has been some communication to Untangle resellers that with our next release (Untangle 7.2), we will no longer be including PC Remote (nor Remote Access Portal). This is indeed the case, so I wanted to make the information more broadly available here.

These apps have become a lot less popular over time, and it is time to let them go. Existing customers of these apps will still be able to use them - they will not disappear from their Untangle Servers. However, we will no longer be marketing them to new customers. With the 7.2 release, we will also be dropping them from our packages and bundles for new customers; again, existing customer will continue to have access to them.

I dont think may people ever used PCR anyway. I know I never have.

Why remove PC Remote? We use it from time to time. It's a great thing to have. It works great for us...

It can be made available by special request - the main goal is to not sell an inferior quality product to new users. Contact me at dmorris@untangle.com and we can work something out.

We do a lot of remote administration and this is a part of what I wrote into the dr plan now that it is going away. I am dissapointed. with having some issues with it I am willing to spend the time to get it to work.
