Default First time using policy manager, need some advice.

I have used untangle for a while, but this is the first time I have set up one with the pro package and used the Policy Manager.

Here's what I want to acheive:

    1) 09:00 to 17:30 black certain categories of web browsing. before or after these hours allow more liberal access (but not porn or proxy), however I would want to continue to log all access.

    2) Have a list of users who are not blocked at any point, but are logged.

So, so far I have setup the default rack with the categories of site I want to block, I have got the AD plugin working and users being recognised by the untangle box.

How do I now acheive these 2 new objectives. I thought allowing users through the web filtering would be easy. Go to Web filter settings, choose Pass Lists, then add the users, however there is no users here only client IP's which is not what I want.

SO my next stop is the policy manager, but how to do this?

    Thanks for any help

I would start with this wiki:

If you want to create policies based on AD, you would also need the AD connector, along with the Policy Manager.
to be understood, you must first understand.

It often helps troubleshooting if you have a good network map. Look here if you want my advice on how to draw one.

dmccabe, did you get this going? If so, are you able to detail the steps you took in this thread?
