Default How to use Policy Manager to block all XBOX internet traffic

I have set up a static ip for my son's xbox. I want to set time limits for it so that at 9:00pm it goes blind to the internet (kill xbox live). I have set up a custom rack, added a policy for the xbox ip and set up the preferred times. Its not working..... What step am I missing

Can you post some screenshots of your policy manager and the policy you created?

    And welcome to the forums!

absolutely..... All help is much appreciated

Policy Manager capture shows the xbox ip and the rack it is assigned to. The Firewall capture shows the firewall rule I set up in the xbox rack

This should be a easy thing to do. Being new to Untangle, I must just be missing something

I had also created a similar rule for my static ip ipod for testing and it too failed. The screen captures do not reflect that rule as I deleted it

Right now it only blocks packets matching from 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.100.

So in your firewall rule remove Destination Address. Then the Xbox should not be able to connect to the out side.

You need to edit the Policy's as well.

Yep, WebFool's got it, the Destination Address should be "any"

Thanks guys.... I got busy and just now got back to checking this. I just instituted your suggestions and hit apply. I have not heard any yelling and screaming yet from the room with the xbox so not sure it it is working or not. Will check and report back later

i believe your Policy Manager rules aren't going to work because of the Client Interface and Server Address entries. try changing Server Address to any and Client Interface to any or Any non-WAN interface.

you can use the Session Viewer to verify what rack the 360 is going through.

Also, make sure if you are using DHCP from the untangle box to make a static entry so thte XBOX always gets the same IP address.
