    Default Policy Manager & AD

    Hi

I've been using Untangle to look after our network for a while, we currently have a server running SBS 2011, and we have about 20 PC's in the office. All PC's are currently on the domain and all users have logins, but we also have a wireless access point that allows one with a laptop to access the internet without any authentication. Lastly, most of the users share PC's.

So we need to start applying some stricter policies on internet usage, and I'd like to use the Directory Connector alongside the Policy Manager. Here's what I'd like to do:

First of all I'll add DC and PM, and then I want to create two racks, the default rack, with only basic restrictions that apply to all, and then the second rack, which blocks a large group of sites for a period of 12 hours during the day.

The issue is that I can't set a policy to block this group for certain users, as one can cimply get to the default rack by connecting to the wireless. There is however a small group of users that will not have this 12 hour restiction, so I'd like my policies to be like this:

    1) for the small group of exempt AD users, send to default rack
    2) for all users and all IPs send to secondary rack, hours 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Will that result in all other users getting sent to the secondary rack during those hours? even someone that connects to the wireless without authentication? FYI the wireless is just an AP plugged into the network. DHCP and DNS are done by the server.

    Thanks!

    Andrew

Thanks for the response mrunkel. Unfortunately I'm not on one of the paid packages just yet, I'm busy waiting on my paypal account to get funded in order for me to get the premium package. Basically I'm just trying to plan my setup and see what everyone suggests etc.
