Setting up untangle for a client and we want to be able to work on it remotely from the office. According to the wiki PC remote and Remote Access Portal from what i have read is meant to remote to computers from the untangle box. What about remoting into the untangle box? Been lookin on the forums for a while...gonna search some more but can someone shed some light on my question?

Been looking. I see people with same question, i see some kind of answer but don't quite understand.
So in order to remotely configure untangle I connect to the untangle box by its IP/Domain name and it should come up with a login screen ect. Tired that, get nothing, tired secure SSL port at the end but still nothing. Help anyone? |

If you just want the web UI then you need to turn on some options in config > administration > Enable External Administration
It is recommended to change the HTTPS port off the default of 443 to something else, this simplifies matters when web servers are behind untangle. There is also a way to enable SSH access to the terminal for command line access and troubleshooting. |

Correct, if there is a DSL/cable modem or router in front of Untangle, you will need to create a port forward or "pinhole" through the router to the Untangle box before you can access it from the outside. That port is 443 by default, so check that beforehand and make sure to allow TCP on that port forward.

I do this for clients, what I do is configure an Open VPN client for myself and install onto my system at the office. Then when I need to connect to the client site to manage the UT system I just launch the VPN connection, it then gives me an internal IP address from the client site, from there I just connect to the web interface as I would if I was onsite through the browser.
