I have three untangle boxes running at seperate sites specifically to utilize RAP and two of them quit working within the past week. I have gone as far as to replace the entire device and still it will not function. The issue I am getting appears to be desk side howevever it happens from every box I attempt to use. I am able to log into the portal the issue appears when I launch the Java based remote desktop I get a "unable to launch application".
I want to be clear that I have gone as far as to deploy a new box, reinstall and reconfigure software, access the portal from a newly imaged workstation. I was thinking that the 7.3 update may have hosed this completely, does anyone know if there is a way to roll back to 7.2? Any help is appriciated |

I could be wrong, but I believe RAP is end of life and is no longer supported on current versions of Untangle.

I placed a call with support and left a message, waiting to get a call back. I believe that this was caused by the update to 7.3 which was required to utilize Captive Portal |

He wont get the issue sorted, we have the same problem we utilised RAP as a primary tool for 80 field based staff to access an internal system, with the last update it killed the RAP because of the following
An error occurred while launching/running the application. Title: Remote Desktop Client @ untangle.domain.com Vendor: Untangle Category: Security Error Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system Unsigned resource: https://untangle.domain.com/rdp/java-getopt-1.0.12.jar Untangle will not be fixing this problem and their advice was to either run a second untangle both with untangle 7.2 just for RAP or roll back to 7.2 and never update again... My main gripe with this is that were we given ZERO notice that RAP would be deprecated as a product by Untangle. Had we known we could have mitigated the risk by introducing a new system, and as it stood we could not do the work that the RAP was a prerequisite for which is directly related to our ability to invoice our customers. As a result our bottom line was significantly affected over the period that we could not utilise RAP and we had to develop a new solution. To say I am not happy with Untangles conduct in this is an understatement. This should not have happened or should have been mitigated long before it did with proper communication to customers who actively utilise the RAP product. There is also a product that we can integrate with untangle called adito or openvpn-ALS. While it is not being developed much these days, it makes an excellent replacement for most of the functionality of RAP.
