Default Hostnames No longer showing in Report since 9.1.1 upgrade

Hi all,

since the recent upgrade, i've had a few issues with the reporting module.

the First was that the reports simply weren't generating at all. This was rectified by installing the phishing filter lite. (I would like to remove this though as it is not a funtion we need, and increases the reports size unnecissarily.)

However the New Issue is that the Report doesn't recognize the Hostnames of the devices anymore, It only shows IP Addresses... we cannot use Namemaps or static Addresses etc.. due the nature of the use. We have guest devices etc...

it worked perfectly until this update and the devices are assigned their DHCP addresses perfectly by the Untangle DHCP Network settings.

Has anyone else experienced this ,Or has a possible fix.

I restarted the server, uninstalled the reporting module. Offlined/onlined it all to no avail.

Build: 9.1.1~svn20111222r30591release9.1-1lenny

We are going to try another route, utilizing the Captive Portal and Directory Connector.

thanks for the reply though.

I have the same problem and the only answer I got from support is:
"For the hosts resolution, unfortunately, this always shows IP and has nothing to do with the upgrade."

which is unfortunately not right, because with 9.0 it was working perfect! :-(

I got a very swift response from your support, with in an hour of logging the fault.

this has been identified as a bug and should be fixed in v9.2.
May I just say how refreshing it is to have such excellent support service

Default How long more is 9.2 to be out?

I got the issue of report not showing the hostname of the nodes since the update 9.1. and I guess it could be a bug. I thought 9.1.1 would solve it and now it seems that I have to wait for 9.2.

Hope UT dev team could at least push an update to the respective module that handle the hostname reporting. With ip address reporting, it doesn't mean anything at all since the actual host assign with that ip is not identify.

Thanks UT, you are great

9.2 is listed as a build on the forums, this usually means they are pushing out upgrades. It will be a month or so before all boxes are eligible for the upgrade.

Since you've already contacted support, you may try contacting them again. They can get you in on the priority list if you're affected that much by this bug.

That is, operating under the assumption they are in fact, pushing out 9.2 as I type this.

Default WE too have no useful reporting in 9.1.1

Same symptoms as above: no IP addresses within our LAN are listed, and Name Map is ignored.
Static DHCP is set up, as is the Name Map,

Was working last time I checked...Last year some time.
