Default Can't Quarantine on Port 8080 Interally

So maybe I'm doing something stupid, but I have followed everything I found regarding quarantine configuration and it seems to work fine except for one thing:

Users click the link for the quarantine in the email and it doesn't work.

The link says it needs to connect to port 8080, yet that only works on the outside. Internally, the link works if I manually remove :8080 out of the URL.

    What did I do wrong?

Hi cott and welcome to the forum,

Pls provide us with your settings for the Public Address. (Location Config->Administration->Public Address.

And check so that you have "Enable remote Quarantine" checkt under Config->Administration.

Did you change your remote admin port to 8080?

They don't have the greatest link and unfortunately, it's kind of sketchy at the moment so I can't get into thier config until that is resolved.

This is from memory, so take it with a grain of salt:

The internal and external share a name (and I specified that in the config and have made the necessary entries into the internal and external dns).

I changed the external port to 8080 as I can't use the standard port 443 (they have other services using that from the outside that would be a pain to change).

The notification email comes through just fine and the url lists:

    h**ps://myuntanglebox.mydomanname.com:8080/quarantine/whatevercrazylink

I think my problem is, I want the quarantine to answer to the same url AND port on the inside AND outside to avoid user confusion.

Is there a way to make the inside answer on port 8080 as well?

does that URL work from the outside?

I don't know why the port would work from the outside but not from the inside.
Does that domain name resolve to the same IP both inside and outside?
