Hi All,
I have just started using Untangle. I am using untangle Virtual Appliance with only Spam blocker enabled on a CentOS machine. I have one more VM , which is having my mail server( domino mail server) on CentOS. I have two public IPs. The host machine is assigned with one IP(CentOS) and my mail server is assigned with another IP. I have installed Untangle Virtual appliance in transparent bridge mode and configured with my Mail server IP and enabled Spam Blocker. Actually what i am trying to achieve is that whenever any SMTP mails comes to my mail server , it should come via untangle virtual appliance and the spam blocker should scan the mail. But this is not happening right now. All the mails are directly coming to mail server including the spam mails also. I have used the following to configure the Untangle server except for the setting of router, since i used bridge mode. wiki-51.untangle.com/index.php/Untangle_Virtual_Appliance_on_VMware Can anyone help me to solve this issue? Thanks in advance John. |

untangle is an in-line filter. It needs to sit in-line with the traffic on the way to your mail server.
i don't understand your description, but it doesn't sound like untangle is in-line with the traffic flow. welcome to the forums. |

Thanks for the reply dmorris.
Sorry that you couldn't understand my description. To make it more clear for you, I have installed CentOS on a physical machine and the IP address of the machine is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (ex. 10.10.10.10). I have installed VMServer on the CentOS and created two Virtual Machines. One is SUSE linux(which has my mail server installed) and another one is Untangle Virtual Appliance I have configured my Untangle to run as transparent bridge mode and have assigned yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy (ex. 10.10.10.11) as IP address. I have installed only SPAM Blocker utility on Untangle. I have assigned the same IP address to SUSE linux(10.10.10.11) thinking that any mails ,sent to my mail server, will come through Untangle and reach my mail server, since both untangle and my mail server have the same IP address. But the mails are directly coming to mail server without going to untangle I want to know whether i have configured Untangle in a correct way. or if anyone knows a best way to configure untangle to handle spams for the scenario explained above, please help me. if this is not clear, sorry i cannot describe my situation more than this. Thanks John. |
