Ok. Switched them around and left the config as is. Still no connectivity. Also, how can you get to the admin page remotely if your internal is bridged and you don't know the ip?

if its bridged it has the same IP as whatever it is bridged to.

I'd stop and do the following:

1) unplug your internal NIC
2) configure your external, bridge internal to external
3) check that the external is connected (in other words that you have the correct mapping)
4) run the connectivity test
5) if it succeeds, plug in your internal

"2) configure your external, bridge internal to external"

Config ext for dynamic? I'm guessing it will try to get an address from the dhcp internally and not Sonicwall?

please, call support and let them know 1.) About this thread and 2.) you're trying to install the trial of commtouch.

I assure you that they will gladly help you with all your questions.

But yes, if you're running in bridge mode, the external interface will grab a DHCP address from the network. If you bridge internal to external, it will get the DHCP address from whatever DHCP server is available, internal or external.

When you bridge, you are making the two networks one network. That's what bridging does.

While I'm pretty sure, I can't guarantee that I know what I'm doing. There might be a better way to do this, and this way might actually suck. Make sure you understand the implications of what you're doing before trying to follow these directions.

It often helps troubleshooting if you have a good network map. Look here if you want my advice on how to draw one.

That explains it. is there something blocking HTTP upstream of untangle? untangle needs to be able to use HTTP for many reasons, including download updates, upgrades, and apps. Are its external interfaces settings correct?
