please advice if untangle is using spamhaus for spam filtering. if so how do i solve this issues seeing we have a payed subscription already though untanlge.

tarpit uses zen.spamhaus.org - try disabling tarpit.

was told to enable tar pit cause of the load....

Well tarpit uses spamhaus by default. I guess you could pay whatever their license fee is or
you could switch to another RBL for tarpitting by doing the following:

Just so you know, it's spam blocker tar-pitting which is using spamhaus, which is of course a free product.

You can follow the steps below if you don't want to pay the spamhaus fee.

Dsbl is gone

I suspect the dw5304´s mail server is under massive spam attack and tarpitting generate too many request to spamhaus.
Check the log of spam blocker and search a few top ip address attack and block them in firewall app.

lol

just disabled tar pitting and added a bit more ram to the box was seeing loads of 129 for a few hours after disableing the tar pitting

and it deffanly looks like it was a spam attack on my end.
