Default Advanced Untangle Tip of the Day! (Site to Site VPN)

Hello, I am back. Hope everything is going well for everyone. Today's tip will cover site to site VPN with 2 Untangle servers. (thank you mgcchkn for the idea) Please use our wiki documentation on the VPN setup.
    http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/OpenVPN

Checklists for site to site VPN:
    • One site needs to be the server
    • Other sites will be the clients
    • Only works with other Untangle servers at this time.

When you get to this point, here is the special trick. Make sure to put the internal IP address of your client side and not the external IP address.
    Here is the screenshot...

BNArun, got your VPN email. Looks like on your main site, the Untangle is in a bridgemode. You will need to do few things to make this work. Please follow these instructions on this link.
    http://forums.untangle.com/tips-tricks/107-advanced-untangle-tip-day-openvpn-untangle-has-internal-ip-address.html

Windows does offer PPTP. However, since you are in a bridgemode, PPTP will pass through the Untangle server. Currently, to pass PPTP traffic, you will need to be in a bridge mode. The router mode is NATing, that is why PPTP will not pass under the router mode. We are working on this feature to be added for the 5.1 release, slated for end of the year.

I was under the impression that Untangle could not pass PPTP or IPSEC?

Please explain. Am I missing something here?

The Untangle can pass the PPTP if it is in bridgemode. I made a mistake, I meant bridgemode, instead of router mode. The router mode is NATing, that is why PPTP will not pass under the router mode. We are working on this feature to be added for the 5.1 release, slated for end of the year.
