    Default New Untangle Hardware - Restored from backup but what do I do about WebCache

    I searched for a procedure for migrating to a replacement Untangle server and came up empty. So..

    1. Backed up the old configuration
    2. Installed a basic Untangle install on new equipment
    3. Updated to the latest
    4. Tested
    5. Restored from the old configuration (eth0/eth1 were reversed but oh well)
    6. Downed the old box
    7. Plugged in the new box


    It seems to work with one observed problem: WebCache.

    How to I attach my WebCache license to the new equipment?
    Currently running on 14 day trial again.

    Log into the new UT's UI, click the my account button on the bottom left, log into your UT store account.

    Click Subscriptions, click the transfer subscriptions link at the top.

    Use the Web UI to move the sub, and relax.

    It took a little while for the new server to show up under my account but once it did the transfer was very simple and seamless.
