Hi, I'm new to untangle and the forum and I setup untangle webfilter on a network yesterday and I seem to have a problem with a site that users MAY use. All other sites is blocked. The site is added to the pass list but after users log into the site and click on certain links it is blocked.
From what I gather the link goes somewhere else thus it is not on the pass list. Is there a way to tell webfilter that everything regarding the whitelist page is also fine or not? Thanks in advance |

Mannemarak,
My best advice is to use Firefox (if you don't already) and use the VIEW DEPENDENCIES addon. That will tell you all of the sites that the site in question loads. You can then find out what else may be blocked. My best guess is that its a site like doubleclick or atdmt, both of which are blocked by Spyware Blocker.

Hi, just to let everyone know, I STILL cannot access most of the site. the url is cipro.co.za. Even after adding alot of the dependant websites as stated by mdh I cannot get access to some parts or I get the 'Method not allowed' message.
Other sites my client uses like pastel.co.za works 100%. I just add the URL and every part is accessable, even the more secure parts requiring a login. This whole thing is basically ruining the setup since I have to allow people FULL access thus making the untangle setup null and void. If anyonethinks of something or can help I would appreciate it alot since I really want this to work and untangle is a very usefull piece of software. Thanks |

That is just it...it is in my pass list, as well as n bucket full of dependant sites connected to that URL. I checked my webfilter events and saw it was in the uncategorised block list. When I uncheck that box to block any uncategorised sites it goes in and all is fine.

Got it...didn't read the whole thread through. Maybe its the way that you have them specified in the pass list. Could you list them here?

Will do, tomorrow I'll be on my clients site again and I'll post the list from there.
One thing I do notice when going to that website, on a certain link the URL read like this: http://www.cipro.co.za//ccc/agentreg.asp I do not know enough about web coding etc. (looking into it now). If this makes sense to anyone, please help ![]() Thanks Last edited by Mannemarak; 11-11-2009 at 06:40 AM.. |
