Default Web filter blocking all web access

The web filter will not allow any computer access to the web on all racks. When I turn the filter off access is enabled. Nothing was changed before this started. One day no problems, come in the next day and no one can get out. Any ideas?

sounds like a DNS issue with the Untangle server.

See if you can browse the Internet from the Untangle unit itself.

    Otherwise, call support.

Also, check to make sure your policy manager isn't expired.. In any case, call support, we'll get you straightened out right quick.

I have the exact same problem since this midnight, and it is not a DNS issue, because nslookup is working from the clients and all not web applications (skype, msn and so on are working). I can do a ping to any www.xyz.com address from everywhere. But browsing is impossible. if y make a telnet check without Web Filter, I get expected results as it would be in browser as well:
    Code:
    telnet www.google.com 80
    GET / HTTP/1.1
    Host: www.google.com

    RESULT:
    =======
    HTTP/1.1 302 Found
    Location: http://www.google.com.br/
    Cache-Control: private
    Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8

    <HTML><HEAD><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">
                                                                                  <TITLE>302 Moved</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>
                                                                                                                       <H1>302 Moved</H1>
                                                                                                                                         The document has moved
         <A HREF="http://www.google.com.br/">here</A>.
    </BODY></HTML>
... but doing the same telnet test while web filter is turned on, I am still able to get connection with TELNET, but when I enter the GET command, there is NO RESPONSE AT ALL (only when i am typing something wrong, because than the web cache is already having a problem to parse the GET command :-))

So did you found any solution to that problem?

mrunkel is talking about DNS on the untangle device itself (not DNS on the clients behind Untangle)

DNS is not the problem at all! I am able to resolve DNS lookups on clients and untangle without any problems! From untangle I can open the page even Web filter is running! Even the connection from the client to the web page is established (can be checked with telnet), but any GET request returns NO result.

Since Web Filter is a paid app I'd email support@untangle.com and they can help you.
