    Default re .download off sourceforge.

dmorris I am only able to find version 9.02 on there I have searched for version 9.1 build 2 and it comes up not found?

Just for reference though 9.02 came in at 1.7 mbytes though when I got it from there just now to test all was ok with things at this side.

So not too sure why I am unable to download at all from the direct link you posted in the first link?

I have even tried by bypassing the Server altogether and just connecting this 'pewter directly to the adsl router - that didn't work either.

    Cheers anyway.

    Kevin.

    #########################

And to my delight there was a upgrade available:

Just performed a upgrade from 9.02 to 9.1.0~svn20111030r30139main-1lenny

    So far no issues

    Default Web Filter Lite 9.1

I had mention this in a early post but I am still having problems with the new web filter lite. I have installed beta1, rc1, and now rc2 with the same results. The filter blocks playboy.com not penthouse.com. It also lets in a lot more porn sites than the other filter that was in use with 9.02. Any one else getting these results or is there setting I am missing. Thanks in advance.

how are you blocking it, by category or manually putting the address in the block list? what do you see in the Event Log?

You'll have to provide more detail and/or steps to replicate.
Since it has works fine for the rest of us I have to assume something about your setup is different, so "it doesnt work" simply isn't enough to work with.

Thanks for the reply. I am using untangle in bridge mode and filtering by category. I am at work now, I will look at the logs later. What other information do you need.

    Thanks,
    Arnie

I reported this very thing in this post in 9.1 beta 1:

    http://forums.untangle.com/announcem...tml#post154033

For details, I have mine in router mode, and I block by category (Porn checked to block / log), and I do NOT have ANY sites I'm manually blocking in any filter. It will block playboy.com, but not redtube.com or penthouse.com.

I have not downloaded the latest version, so I don't know if it works in the latest or not, but it was not working in beta 1. I'll download the latest, and see what it does for me. If this is NOT working, then I need to shut off auto-update, so that it doesn't update. This is a MUST that I have this working, at least like it was working pre-9.1.

NOTE: The current version that I'm on for production is 9.0.2...

I'm not in a position right now that I can check my logs either, but I guess that I could at least check the logs to see if it's even catching them as logged events, even though it isn't blocking them.

I'll check that later when I get a chance...

I have checked the event log and the only site that was blocked was playboy.com. I went to many bad sites including penthouse.com and they did not show on the event log. The setup that I am using is the same I used with 9.02 and that is the defaults settings in bridge mode. I hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Arnie

If they aren't in the event log (even as passed) then web filter didn't see them. If this is the case they definitely won't be blocked.

This is probably because you have a web cache running some where or they are cache in your browser, or the traffic is going some other router through a different gateway or policy/rack or is bypassed.
