    Default Untangle v12.1.0 available!

    NGFW v12.1.0 is now available!

12.1.0 has some amazing new stuff we're really excited to get out there.

We now have geo-location - as many long time users will love to hear!
We already have the best reports in the space, but we've continued to push the envelope with the reports and dashboard.
We want the dashboard to be the go-to place to see whats happening on your network.

You can read about these and all the other changes here:

hmm.. looks like we don't get any signatures for Application Control lite. (but we are running it behind our prod box so it might have eaten the packets :-) )

Lite signatures were remove a few versions back. We added notes to the wiki about the perils of the rules and were to download them.

    https://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/...ite#Signatures
"WARNING: In previous and old versions of Untangle there was a default signature set. However, enabling block on some of the default signatures caused false positives and blocked legitimate network traffic. Despite big warnings in the user interface and help documentation, we found users often misconfigured Application Control Lite anyway and experienced network problems as a result. To avoid this issue there are now no default signatures. If you have read this warning and understand that misconfiguring Application Control Lite will cause major network connectivity issues, then you can download the original list of signatures here and import them into Signatures"

I installed 12.1 and I'm running it now! I restored a 12.0.1 config backup and I'm good to go.

This is the first time I've upgraded the firewall since I built a Hyper-V environment. So nice to bring down the 12.0.1 VM, start the new 12.1 fully-configured VM and have very little downtime. Plus, I can fall back to 12.0.1 at a moment's notice. Love it.
