    Default NGFW v14.1.0 available!

    NGFW v14.1.0 is now available!
14.1.0 is a major new release.

You can read about the changes here:
    http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/14.1.0_Changelog

You can see it in action here:
    http://demo.untangle.com/

The ISOs and IMGs and firmwares can be downloaded here:
    http://download.untangle.com/untangle_1410_x64.iso

    http://download.untangle.com/untangle_1410_x64.ova

    Enjoy!
As always, if you have feedback, especially around the new IPS, we'd love to hear it.
If its thorough/extensive feedback, please create a thread so it won't be lost here.

We will be announcing some webinars to demo/explain and do a deep-dive into the changes and the new IPS soon... likely for just after Thanksgiving break here in the US when everyone is back.

When will the upgrade be available for me?
Upgrades are rolled out over time to the existing servers. The upgrade will likely be available to all servers by end of December.

Awesome. Look forward to it. Am on the priority list, but not seeing it available within NGFW yet. Great work!

    This looks great!

One thing I'd like to see for IPS: is it possible to use rules to enable blocking for signatures that only applies to a targeted segment of my network?

Given the chance for false positives etc with IPS signatures, I'd like to be able to set up a workflow that automatically blocks rules for a smaller "test" group (rack?) in my network, and then review the new blocks each day or week and extend the block to the full network only when I'm sure it won't cause more trouble. I suspect the nature of IPS means a signature either blocks or not for all of Untangle, but id doesn't hurt to ask

Also, I'd like to see the Emerging Threats people start to include a "confidence" metric with each rule, that could then be surfaced in the Untangle interface to give me, as an admin, some idea of the likelihood for false positives. This isn't an Untangle issue... it's something the upstream provider needs to do first. But it's information that's very important in making a decision on whether to block, log, or ignore something. It wouldn't even have to be a number... even just a designation like the NFL's Probable/Questionable/Doubtful style injury reports (but with different words that make more sense for this space) would go a long way.

Backup file not supported from 14.0.1? I went ahead, made a backup, loaded up the new version, and tried to import and it said that import is not available for 14.0...

I'm afraid not. The rules just write the action and don't modify any other part of the signature.

The v14 on the Linksys will continue to get signature updates. It's good to use for quite a while.
