    But... but... but... change!

Makes me glad I have UT installed at home now where I can run this for a few weeks before I let my main system update.

Just curious why the switch to Brightcloud? Zvelo is as good as web filtering gets. Pretty sure Webroot is a big step back.

It might have something to do with these:

Untangle isn't the micro-player they were even just a couple year ago. It makes sense now for them to want such critical partners to have a more solid financial footing.

I suspect it also has to do with some of the new features we're getting in regards to search and youtube controls, where the Brightcloud product API helps UT tell a better story here.

We're looking forward to your feedback on our 14.2 version. Here's a bit of additional information on the changes we've made to Web Filter.

The app looks basically the same with a few enhancements and changes
    - Categories are now mapped into groups which makes it easier to focus on categories of interest and easier to navigate through categories.
    - Some categories will be named differently.
    - Web Filtering can be done based on search terms for common search sites such as Google, Youtube, Ask, Bing and Yahoo.
    - Restricted mode can be enforced on Youtube.
    - All Youtube searches are logged, as well as Google, Bing and Yahoo searches.

At Untangle, we make it our business to stay abreast of the latest industry innovation and cyber security trends. From time to time we make changes to the commercial engines that are used in our apps. We do this in order to stay current with what we believe are the best technologies available for our products and the direction we're going. There are other key features and functionality we can build with the new technology we're using, which we'll share that with you in the future.

Everything installed great, and restored my backup without issue.... I am sure the family will enjoy the new filtering! Quick question, as there are "updates" to the beta, will they be pushed out, or will I need to load a new image each release?

Upgrades will be pushed out but not guaranteed to update correctly. It's rare for a beta not to upgrade fully.

One note to those using search term filtering and youtube searches , they do require SSL Inspector.
