Yes, v14.2.x will upgrade to v15.0. We have only required a clean install once, back in the 10.0 version. All version since 10.0 will have a upgrade path to the latest release.

15.1 will also upgrade from 15.0. One of the reason for the kernel change in 15.0 is to prepare for the 15.1 release with Debian Buster.

Yep, upgrades are all in the works. Interestingly enough, the 9.0 to 10.0 upgrade being the only point in Untangle history where a clean install was required, had nothing to do with the OS upgrade. The reason Untangle needed the nuke and pave then was the completely rewrite of Untangle's networking that enabled VLANs, and drastically improved how it handled OpenVPN.

Gag I spent so much time and money trying to automate that upgrade to prove Untangle wrong!

I don't have problem to pay more for the home licence if they want to.
At least they need to give us the ability to do that. I know the home to the 25 licence limit is a big difference in price but the joke part is that I'm on the limit of the 25 devices if i buy the normal version. Only my lan/wifi/serverVM are nearly 20 devices, count now cameras, mobiles, tvs etc the 25 limit is a no go for me at least.

Anyway i still have hope that something will happen and there will be a way to continue to have untangle magic in home.

If you are close or at the 25 device limit on a home license, support can provide a higher limit after they review the Untangle devices and settings to verify it is home use.

That right there is a mighty damn reasonable policy.

I just bought an untangle appliance and home subscription. I'm moving from Ubiquiti USG Pro because I wanted more security for my home system. Now seeing that modules are not going to be available to me unless I pay over a thousand dollars a year I feel like I just wasted my money. Very disappointed. I was debating this vs. the UDM Pro which just came out. Is it possible to return an unopened device to Untangle?

The HomePro license includes most of the paid modules (currently excluding three, with the next release excluding four, with just two of four playing a security role) at its vastly reduced price and with its very liberal device count. Personally, I just renewed my home subscription (again) and am very happy with the value.

Just for clarity's sake, will it be possible for home users to purchase Threat Prevention as a separate stand-alone subscription?
