I'm kind glad to see the OpenVPN installer getting shelved. I've run into several environments recently where the default config in the installer just wouldn't pass muster in Windows and I had to go find the most up-to-date version of OpenVPN. I'm guessing a Windows patch broke it, so I've just made it a habit to carry the current installer around and use OVPN files. They're faster to set up too.

Is the only difference the availability of the OVA download?

As changes are made to the Beta will the version I installed auto update?
    Currently running Build: 15.1.0.20200412T101437.6945ed11c2-1buster

No, it is a more recent build.

Not necessarily. As stated in the first post of this thread, alpha and betas have no guarantee to upgrade.

The first commercial mesh using Wireguard came out 2 weeks ago (Tailscale) and I did test it across Azure and some other hosting. It is very fast, but management portal is still weak. Started by a former Google engineer. Integrates with most SSO/Authentication schemes in cloud and corporate.

I could see an Untangle Wireguard mesh where it is managed via the Untangle console. Either offer a director service for a fee or have Untangle licensed users be able to set up their own director if needed.

Personally I see Wireguard as a revenue opportunity for Untangle. You already have the local console, the remote console and the ability to manage endpoints. By setting an ACL with the Wireguard manager, Untangle then becomes your mesh manager.

About the only complaint I have with this beta, and version 15.X really is that it is hyper sensitive to changes in the "Network" (Config - Network). Change of a port forward, DHCP static assignment, Bypass ... it seems anything in there ... will cause the whole thing to come down, I lose the GUI, and I lose the internet in my whole home for a few minutes. I don't remember it being that "sensitive" in the past.

Policies and app changes seem to be fine.

Changes in those areas cause the networking service to reset, so yeah this process is normal and has been in place forever.

Now, I cannot explain why your hardware would be performing this process more slowly, but I suggest you test your hard disk, because you might be facing a failure.

Now there are a lot of factors that can contribute ...

My buffer bloat scores have been amazing with this beta on my 50/3 (Mbps Down/Up) bonded pair DSL.

I typically score all over the place any where from an A to a C with the bulk in the B to C score range. Typically the upload test would kill me from a buffer bloat score perspective.

Since moving to the beta ... I have not gotten less than an A. It seems much better at my slower speeds.

Wooo... I wonder if that's before or after v6 support within Untangle's apps. v16 being all about v6 seems oddly serendipitous. But, roadmaps rarely give us such freedom.
