Are we officially not doing 32bit now? There is a 32bit Debian 10... or is that just later in the build cycle?

For now we don't have a 32 bit installer, there is a path for 32 bit upgrade though.

Ahh I'll just assume when the link format changes back to x64 for release there'll be an x32 hiding there as usual.

I don't have too many of those old units left, and the few that were there I wanted to get replaced this year. But COVID happened... so some backwards compatibility on this release would be greatly appreciated.

In the meantime I guess I should get the last of my v14.2s up to v15...

    Stupid COVID.

32bit 15.1.0. With that said, I would not install new 32bit going forward.

Oh I feel the same way, support for the platform at the moment is important only because of the fiscal disruptions injected by the COVID mess, if Debian 10 based Untangles support 32bit even marginally that will be sufficient for a full phase out. I'm fairly certain Debian 11 will simply not support the architecture.

@jcoffin Understood. But the inability to do clean installs on existing 32-bit Untangle boxes (in the case of a drive failure, for example, or just because) means just what I said it did on 15.0 release: This is the beginning of the end of Untangle on old PCs for home users. That's a big deal, and maybe an even bigger deal in the current economy. If my home box fails, I'm out subscription money. Just saying.

Is it going to be unlikely that we won't be able to upgrade to the final version with this beta? Also is there a way to do a remote clean install so we don't have to use a monitor and keyboard?

The same backup config from 32 bit will install on the 64 bit install. It's rare to see a box that will not install 64 if 32 worked.
