Ahh yes Protectli... the bane of my existence...

No it shouldn't give you fits with their hardware.

v15.1 is about getting onto Debian 10, Debian 9 is still patching so yeah there is no urgency yet.

There is no such thing as a good product that is manufactured in the PRC. So no, it's a literal bane. A market full of people buying cheap garbage from known compromised vendors and pretending to use them to "secure" their networks. But the market has spoken, my sales are flat because I cost more. Why? Because I limit myself to German, American, or ROC (Taiwan) based products. Where IP laws matter, trade treaties are honored, and people are generally honest from start to finish.

Manually updated to today's date release, I can confirm IDS is now updating again.

Funny thing, because I made a copy of the Critical Priority rule, so I could exclude signature 2016149 to enable my Unifi Controller access while also blocking things. This fix no longer works thanks to the signature rule reset.

OK, well it worked just fine before I nuked the module and reinstalled it to fix some reported "warnings". Now my signatures are all different numbers so the above doesn't work. I've disabled IDS rules that block to get things working for now until I have some time to chase down the new signature number.

At this time it seems enabling High or Critical Priority rule sets break the Unifi Cloud controller integration. This is a relatively well known issue with IDS and Unifi.

To be clear, I'm not saying anything is broken. IDS is behaving EXACTLY as I expect it to. The issues I'm facing are due to the nature of dynamic IDS, updates, and my own needs. Admins that don't want to face this reality, should refrain from using the module entirely.

Currently not seeing update to the ver 15+ available on the z4w devices for some reason. Is this not being pushed out to those devices? Our other devices have been updated and are working smoothly

A couple of quick questions about the latest date release...

    1. Will it require a reboot?
    2. Can we have more details around the "New LCD driver for 15.1.0"?

Date releases almost never require a reboot.

And LCD is for the onboard LCDs on some appliance platforms. It doesn't apply unless you have one of those devices. Heck, it may only really apply to new appliances as yet to be announced.

Previous driver was not compiled for Kernel: 4.19.0-8-untangle-amd64 so it was not displaying correctly. Same driver was compiled for the current kernel in this release.
