    Default block Internet download manager IDM

    hello everyone

    is there a way of blocking IDM on the untangle Application control.

    most download manager cruftware isn't really a protocol, its just an app which download different parts of the file simultaneously with multiple connections.

    This usually won't actually make any difference, but if your connection is saturated or shaped such that each session gets equal treatment, having 5x sessions could be 5x faster than downloading via 1 session.

    is there any way in Untagles to Limit the number of sessions per IP address, eg
    192.168.10.1(LAN Client) is limited to 20 Sessions.

    it's not possible to limit number of sessions. In practically terms, there is not a reason to limit sessions as number of session is not resource limitation. It's better to limit bandwidth to the download service. This is done with Bandwidth Control. https://www.untangle.com/shop/Bandwidth-Control/
