Default Limit the speed of users rather than total downloads?

Hi, we use untangle to filter traffic for our resedential internet.

We are struggling to share the traffic around in a fair manner. One person gets cracking internet, the other goes very slow.

One idea is to limit everyone to something like 256k download speed.

    Is this possible with untangle?

Is there something else i could do to try and spread the data around a little fairer?

    Thanks for all your help

    Yes, you could do that.

I'm not sure thats really going to achieve your goals. Unless you pay-by-bit you want to use your bandwidth if nothing else is using it. The key is to allow things with higher priority to use more when there is resource contention.
