Default “Ransomware: Recent Attacks & Cost “ whitepaper

    Hi,

We have gone through “Ransomware: Recent Attacks & Cost “ whitepaper.
We require some clarification for the point regarding to “WannaCry” mentioned in the whitepaper.

Could you please let us know, in Windows XP environment, if we have kept the SMBv1 ports open intentionally for our product use, how would Untangle safeguard it. Would you suggest to close the ports or is there any mechanism with Untangle to safeguard the machines from the WannaCry and Petya attack.

    Thanks
    Kafiya

I would closed those ports. It's never a good idea to have those ports open to the Internet. Or are you referring to those ports open to the internal network?
