    Default Interface Settings

Are interface settings (such as IP addresses, etc) saved in the configuration back up?
The reason I am asking is because I have built a backup UT machine and would like to periodically restore the backup config file from my main UT machine onto the backup to keep it up to date. However, if the config backup contains the settings for the interfaces, that will create problems since the LAN port on the backup machine would be configured with the same address as the main UT machine.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

    Thanks,
    Carlton

Yes, the network settings are saved in the backup file but restoring as an option to restore without network settings. All this information is in the wiki. https://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/Restore

Very handy that... a restore without networking is a great way to sync up the configuration on a VRRP slave.

Watch the email configuration though, not so much fun when all your VRRP devices are spitting out reports on the same address!

Thanks for the tip, I had not even considered that. Overall, I am consistently impressed with the quality and attention to detail the developers have given UT, it really is a great product.
