Default Active Directory Monitor Update Available!

We've released a new version of the Active Directory Monitor (1.10.31) with the following fixes:

    • Notifier memory usage was too high.
    • In the notifier, two or more exempt IP addresses would cause all notifications to stop.
    • In Settings, the minimum length of exempt user names was incorrectly restricted to six characters instead of of one.
    • In Settings, when selecting an ICC or Next Generation Firewall IP address, the text was nearly the same color as the select background.
    • In Settings, a new Apply button will save settings and restart the notifier but not exit the Settings application.
    • In Settings, after saving, all IP addresses are now resorted.
    • In Settings, the Help button now launches help.
    • The number of exempt IP addresses has been expanded from 20 to 100.
    • The number of appliance IP addresses has been expanded from 10 to 20 each.

    Think we found a bug..

We are running a VRRP test cluster so we had it reporting to two ip's.
Then we removed one unit from the cluster what we noticed was that wget started to spam threads to the ip that was no loger answering.
It also did not kill or time out them out in a resonable so both of our DC spiked in CPU and Processes.

This need to be addressed as there is support for multiple ips in the section there needs to be a good handling if one adds wrong ip or if the server dose not respond in time.

Thanks Björn for the bug report. I opened a bug for this and we will discuss it at the Engineering meeting today.

One workaround is to use the IP of the Internal VRRP as the single Untangle entry in AD Monitor.

We had issues when it failed-over that users got the Captive Portal so reporting to both is what we wan't.

I could see that the wget command had a time out of 5 sec but still around 100 logins during 30 mins made the DC's to cripple.
And the I don't know if there is a retry count as well as it continued over a few hours. until we removed the down IP and restarted the service (and that was just lucky that we got the resources free to login)

Some limiter on the CPU Load or Count of threads would be a + in my book :-)

When I tried to download the 1.10.35 using the link you gave it only downloads the 1.10.33 version.
