    Default 7.0 patches available

As many of you have noted, Untangle 7.0 has some bugs (detailed below).
Firstly, we apologize for these issues. In order to bring you the best Offering at lowest cost, we pull together many open source projects that are constantly changing. We're also constantly changing our code as well. We do the best we can but unfortunately we missed a few regressions this time and caught them late in the process.

The good news is that they all have easy workaround/fixes which we have detailed below. Thank you for continuing to provide us with your feedback. It helps us rapidly improve Untangle, for the benefit of the whole community.

    7.0 patches available

    1. SMTP traffic partially blocked by Protocol Control's Xunlei and KuGoo
    protocol signatures.
    bug 6950 http://bugzilla.untangle.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6950

This affects networks using running Protocol Control that have KuGoo or Xunlei
signatures checked. The new signatures in 7.0 for the protocols Xulei
and KuGoo are overly aggressive and can block SMTP traffic. The best
workaround is to unselect these protocols in the Protocol Control settings.
    1. Protocol Control -> Settings.
    2. <Page 2> unselect block for Xunlei.
    3. <Page 3> unselect block for KuGoo.
    4. Click save.

For those wishing for the pre-7.0 signtures for Xulei and KuGoo, patch is
    available at

    http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/7...Goo_and_Xunlei

    2. IE8 unable to access Config -> Email
    bug 6949 http://bugzilla.untangle.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6949

This affects administrators remotely configuring untangle using IE8.
There is a HTML error for users using IE8 and accessing Config ->
    Email pane.

    Patch available at:

    http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/7..._Config_in_IE8

    3. Internal network users seeing Untangle admin page when browsing the web
    bug 6941 http://bugzilla.untangle.com/show_bug.cgi?id=6941

This affects networks with port 80 port forwards on their main IP that
forwards internal traffic (as well as external traffic) In cases of
networks where there is web server on the internal network and users
on the internal network access the same web server with the external
IP address; the users see the Untangle admin page instead of the
internal web server. The change in behavior was due to 7.0 enabling
block pages if internal HTTP admin was disabled. In order to preserve
this feature and maintain previous behavior, we have a beta patch to
move the block pages to port 81, avoiding the internal port 80
    redirect problem.

This is not fully tested but has been tested on the configuration mention
above to solve this behavior change.

    Patch available at:

    http://wiki.untangle.com/index.php/7..._Port_Forwards

If I wait will all of these patches be part of the upgrade? I was thinking of trying to upgrade my home UT before doing my school one. Will these patches be included in the auto downloads?

sorry, I'm used to not looking at the wiki because it is so outdated, but I think I need to go back to looking at it.

    Thanks,

I uploaded wiki changes for 7.0 on Friday AND anyone can edit the wiki. All it takes is a login, the desire to help other users, and use of decent spelling and grammar skills. Common sense is a good thing as well. We can roll back edits for people who lack the latter.

If you see things that are out of date, please...feel free! We welcome the contribution there as we do on the forums.
